Savour Bristol Bay’s wild salmon, caught fresh by Captain Chris Braun aboard the F/V Outlier in the heart of Alaska’s largest salmon run.
What began as childhood summers up north sparked a lifelong calling and, by 22, led him to captain his first boat.
Today, he helms the Outlier with skill and pride, delivering pure, sustainable salmon full of rich, wild flavor. It’s the taste of Alaska’s untamed waters brought straight to your table.
Meet Captain
Chris Braun
a lifelong fisherman shaped by Alaska’s wild coast
Before dawn breaks across Bristol Bay, Chris is already on deck reading the tides, setting the net, and chasing the wild sockeye that fuel the world’s most iconic salmon fishery.
It’s a life he was born into, summers spent aboard family boats turned into a calling and by his early twenties he’d already earned the his place as captain of his own boat.
Today, Chris runs the F/V Outlier, a sturdy Bristol Bay gillnetter built for fast tides and big fish. Every salmon he brings home has been handled with care, selected straight from his deck, and processed at peak freshness.
His mission is simple: harvest with respect, handle every fish with care, and share the very best of Bristol Bay with families who value real, honest food.
When you buy from Braun’s Alaskan Seafoods, you’re not just purchasing salmon - you’re supporting a captain, a crew, and a legacy built on integrity and real connection to the water.

Every fish is chilled, filleted, and flash-frozen shortly after harvest. This locks in texture and flavor at its absolute peak - often fresher than “fresh” salmon that travels for days.
